Abstract
Self-Managing Organization (SMO) is a managerial approach that emphasizes decision decentralization, team autonomy, and increased individual ownership in the work process. This concept developed in response to the needs of adaptive, agile organizations based on values of trust and participation. This study aims to explore the concept, evolution, and implications of the application of Self-Managing Organization (SMO) in modern organizations using data from various related studies published over a period of 15 years (2010-2025). The approach used in this study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA approach, a systematic method designed to identify, analyze, evaluate, and conclude theories based on relevant evidence from published literature studies. This study conducted a comprehensive examination of the Google Scholar, Science Direct, Springer Link, JSTOR, Wiley, Sage databases by identifying 203 articles from published journals. After a careful inclusion process, 30 articles met the predetermined criteria. This research contributes to formulating future research directions and offers practical implications for the management of modern organizations, especially in the context of decision-making, digital transformation, innovation, and hybrid work.
