Labor absorption is an important indicator in regional economic development. In South Sulawesi Province, labor absorption between districts/cities still shows differences and fluctuations, which are thought to be influenced by economic factors such as minimum wages, education levels, and economic growth. This study aims to analyze the influence of these three variables on labor absorption. This study uses a quantitative approach with panel data from six districts/cities in South Sulawesi Province for the period 2017–2024. The data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Manpower Office. The analysis was conducted using panel data regression with Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests, as well as hypothesis testing using t-tests and F-tests. The results show that, partially, minimum wage and education level have a positive and significant effect on labor absorption, while economic growth has no significant effect. Simultaneously, all three variables have a significant effect on labor absorption. These findings emphasize the importance of wage policies and improving the quality of education in promoting job creation in South Sulawesi Province.
