Abstract
Rapid growth of modern retail and the weak implementation of location distance regulations have created competition that influences consumer preferences and threatens sustainability of traditional markets, so research on the location distance policy between modern retail and traditional markets conduct, to see its influence on people's purchasing interest, using modern retail in Salassa Village and traditional markets in Sabbang District as study objects. The method used is descriptive quantitative with data collection techniques namely incidental sampling of consumers in both place until it reaches 50 respondents. Data analysis techniques used include validity, reliability, multiple linear regression, determination coefficient, t and F tests. The analysis tool used is the IBM SPSS statistical data processing application 30.0 in 2025. Results of the study are: first, the Distance Policy of Modern Retail Locations with Traditional Markets (X1) has a positive and insignificant effect on Public Purchase Interest (Y). Second, the Comparison of Modern Retail with Traditional Markets (X2) has a positive and significant effect on Public Purchase Interest (Y). Third, the Distance Policy of Modern Retail Locations with Traditional Markets (X1), and the Comparison of Modern Retail with Traditional Markets (X2) together have a positive and significant effect on Public Purchase Interest (Y).
