Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the income of corn farmers in Lawewe Village, Baebunta Selatan District, North Luwu Regency. The independent variables in this research include land area, business capital, technology, selling price, and market access, with farmers' income as the dependent variable. The research employed a quantitative approach using multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that land area and selling price have a significant effect on farmers' income, with significance values of 0.003 and 0.007, respectively. In contrast, business capital (0.077), technology (0.757), and market access (0.604) did not significantly influence income. Simultaneously, all independent variables jointly have a significant effect on farmers' income, with a significance value of 0.005 and a contribution of 70.5% (R² = 0.705). These findings highlight that larger land ownership and stable selling prices are key determinants in increasing farmers' income. Conversely, the insignificant role of capital utilization, underused technology, and limited market access suggests the need for improved agricultural institutions and government intervention. Therefore, policies that focus on expanding cultivated land and ensuring stable market prices are highly recommended to improve farmer welfare in the region.
