Badan Permusyawaratan Desa (BPD) merupakan lembaga yang vital dalam pemerintahan desa. Salah satu fungsi utama BPD adalah melakukan pengawasan terhadap kinerja Kepala Desa. Namun, efektivitas kinerja BPD dalam pengawasan ini sering menjadi perbincangan.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan informan kunci, observasi, dan dokumentasi Dengan meningkatkan kinerja BPD, pengawasan terhadap kinerja Kepala Desa menjadi lebih efektif. Hal ini pada akhirnya akan berkontribusi pada tata kelola pemerintahan desa yang baik dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa.
