Interpersonal Communication between Parents and Firstborn Children Experiencing Quarter Life Crisis in Surabaya City. This study analyses interpersonal communication between parents and firstborn children experiencing Quarter Life Crisis in Surabaya. A descriptive-interpretive qualitative approach was used through in-depth interviews with six firstborn children aged 22-27 and their parents, supported by observation and documentation. The findings reveal that the crisis is shaped by career anxiety, family expectations, and the firstborn’s symbolic responsibility. Firstborn children disclose selectively because they feel required to appear mature and reliable. Parental support becomes meaningful when it produces emotional safety, empathy, and non-judgmental responses.
