Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of PE, Effort Expectancy, and PI in Information Technology on BIU Sharia Fintech among Generation Z in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed using primary data collected through purposive sampling from 270 respondents familiar with or using Sharia fintech. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that Effort Expectancy (EE), Performance Expectancy (PE), and Personal Innovativeness (PI) in Information Technology each have a positive and significant effect on Behavioral Intention. PI has the strongest influence in the research model, indicating that individual readiness to adopt new technologies plays an important role in Sharia fintech acceptance. These findings support the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and extend its application by incorporating PI as an individual-level characteristic. The findings provide practical implications for Sharia fintech providers to improve ease of use, communicate functional benefits clearly, and develop innovative features that align with the technology-oriented characteristics of Generation Z. Overall, this study contributes to technology-acceptance research by demonstrating that PI complements technology-related expectations in explaining behavioral intention toward Sharia fintech.
